The Sprout and Other stories is an editorial project by Leonardo De Marchi, graphic designer and visual artist based in the Venice area, Italy.

The Sprout and Other stories was developed over the course of several years combining a range of materials, with the aim of creating a non-exhaustive description and depiction of possible worlds.

“Portals to an everyday life that flows, changes and returns. Characters and atmospheres out of synchrony with the normal flow of time. An agglomerate of impressions, figures and scenes, collected during movement in space and mind-freeing attempts.”

An ‘organic-book-sequence’ divided in three chapters, each one composed by juxtaposing drawings with textual materials – the latter written under the pseudonym Jester U. (or Jester Umbra).

It is the first project published by Bloom fase, a platform founded by Leonardo De Marchi himself.
