Renditi Libera. Scritti fondativi del Fronte Popolare per la Liberazione della Palestina

FPLP
Valerio Evangelisti

With this book we first want to restore, for the first time in Italian, one of the most uncomfortable, uncompromising and, to some extent, forward-looking voices of Palestinian resistance: that of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Starting again from its founding documents, namely their “Manifesto” of December 11, 1967, and “Strategy for the Liberation of Palestine” of 1969, can help us better understand both the Palestinian and Arab scenario of the time and its evolution, but also provide us with a very particular and “working” view on the topics of decolonization and national liberation. You will find the 2017 introduction written, for the Foreing Languages Press edition, directly by the FPLP on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its founding further framing their political vision with a more recent look. In addition, we thought it might further support the collective reflection to share the text, from 1987, by Valerio Evangelisti, “The Early Years of the Popular Source for the Liberation of Palestine,” so as to highlight not only the continuity of the process but also the fellowship and comparison between a certain type of homegrown and Palestinian movements.
