Live Coverage Will Resume Shortly is the first title from (á)nimo Editorial. The book brings together screenshots collected during the two weeks following the murder of George Floyd — images pulled from Twitch, livestreams, surveillance webcams, YouTube broadcasts, and police bodycam footage, seen from inside the epicenter of US power.
These images are inherently ephemeral, consumed and discarded in the moment of their broadcast. Here, they are extracted from the visual saturation of endless scrolling, selected, and fixed on paper. Yet the spiral binding casts them back into an unceasing temporal flow, suggesting a disturbing continuity of events — broken only by the classic message that appears on a malfunctioning television screen.
Situated within the post-photographic sphere, Live Coverage Will Resume Shortly seeks to halt this continuous flow, refocusing attention on one of the most significant events of the last ten years in American history.
